DURHAM, NC (WNCN) – An 84-year-old woman died after the car she was riding in was struck on the passenger side by another vehicle in Durham on Wednesday.
According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded just after 11:00 a.m. to the intersection of Guess Road and Horton Road in reference to an accident involving two vehicles.
Investigators said a Cadillac SUV was traveling southbound on Guess Road when it struck the right side of a Toyota Camry.
The passenger of the Toyota Camry, identified as Emma Laws, 84, died from her injuries after being taken to a local hospital, police said.
Speed or impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash, according to Durham Police.
The accident is still under investigation.
