Commentary

Durham Public Schools invited feedback on school improvement plans during a fall 2026 comment period. The plans involve academic goals, measurement and the work individual schools propose to undertake.

Our view for Durham

Our position is simple: meaningful family participation takes more than posting a technical PDF. Working parents and guardians should be able to see the goal, the baseline, the next checkpoint and the contact person in a few minutes. Translated summaries, evening conversations and accessible online formats would make participation more realistic.
