Danville, VA — Caesars Virginia has announced the grand opening of its $750 million casino resort in Danville, set for December 12. This major new entertainment venue, located near the North Carolina border, sits about an hour’s drive from Durham and less than 80 miles from Raleigh, offering residents of the Triangle region easy access to a high-end gaming and resort experience.
The Danville Casino, a temporary facility opened by Caesars and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in May 2023, has given visitors a preview of what’s to come. The permanent Caesars Virginia resort will feature 1,400 gaming machines, over 80 live table games, and a variety of amenities designed to position it as a leading destination for gaming and entertainment in the region.
One of the most notable new additions is the planned opening of Ramsay’s Kitchen, a restaurant by Michelin-star chef Gordon Ramsay, by the end of 2024. Ramsay’s Kitchen will occupy a prime location within the casino, featuring more than 250 seats, a private dining room, and an outdoor patio overlooking the Three Sisters smokestack—a historic landmark in Danville. The restaurant’s modern design and upscale ambiance are expected to make it a significant attraction within the resort.
In addition to gaming and fine dining, Caesars Virginia will include a 320-room luxury hotel, where reservations are now open for April 2025. Room rates on the Caesars website list weekend stays at $699 per night and weekday stays at $499 per night. The hotel is expected to cater to a range of guests, from gaming enthusiasts to travelers seeking a luxury retreat.
The resort also boasts a comprehensive entertainment and conference center with a 2,500-person capacity, capable of hosting concerts and events similar to those at other Caesars venues nationwide. The facility will house Caesars Sportsbook and the World Series of Poker Room, adding a robust lineup of gaming options that appeal to both seasoned players and newcomers.
The development has been a long-term project aimed at revitalizing the Danville area, bringing new jobs and tourism to southern Virginia. With partnerships between Caesars Entertainment and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Caesars Virginia represents a significant investment in the local economy, promising economic growth and increased tourism in the region. Once fully operational, the resort is expected to generate substantial tax revenue for Danville and nearby communities.
The opening of Caesars Virginia marks a new era for Danville, as it seeks to establish itself as a premier destination for gaming, dining, and entertainment in the southeastern United States. Local officials anticipate that the resort will not only draw visitors from North Carolina but also from across the Southeast, providing a major boost to the local economy and putting Danville on the map as a luxury entertainment destination.
