DURHAM, NC (WNCN) — Two men are in jail after a shooting at a Cook Out parking lot in South Durham.
The suspects faced a jury Friday, charged with the fatal shooting of Davicia Lee, 29. Lee was shot in late October outside Cook Out on South Miami Boulevard.
Her father David tells CBS 17 that Davicia moved to Durham about three years ago because of her job at Publix.
“I’m telling you the honest-to-God truth that my daughter was the most special person in the world,” said David Lee. “I don’t care who you are, if you don’t have it and he had it, he’s going to get it, because he’s going to give it to you.”
Now, Alexander Carlton Jr. 23-year-old and Calvin Spence Jr. The 18-year-old is facing murder charges.
“A police officer called me this morning, he told me that he arrested three people from Durham up in North Carolina that these guys were arrested,” said Lee. “But it’s the same way to arrest those guys, don’t give me back my child.”
On Friday, a judge ordered Carlton and Spence held without bond.
“The defendant conspired with Calvin Spence Jr. to kill him when they both approached the victim with guns and shot him,” said the Durham County District Attorney.
According to warrants, the two men pulled out their guns when Davicia left the argument.
To this day, his father David does not know what happened that night. And the deputies have not revealed the motive, so the family and friends who attended his funeral two weeks ago still have questions.

“The church was full because there were many family members and they were divided because they know the love they have,” said Lee. “Because Davicia always opens her place. Whenever she is there, it will be live.”
Both suspects are expected to appear in court again on December 19. A third man was also arrested for disorderly conduct.
