Durham Police Arrest Three Teenagers Linked to 37 Car Burglaries

Durham Police have arrested three teenagers in connection with a string of 37 car burglaries that occurred overnight last month. According to a news release from the Durham Police Department, the break-ins took place across five locations on the night of November 13 and the following morning. The affected areas include the 20 block of Providence Court, the 1800 block of NC 54, the 1900 block of West Park Drive, the 2500 block of Meridian Parkway, and the 3000 block of Ivey Wood Lane.

The three suspects, aged 15, 16, and 17, face multiple charges, including:

• 37 counts of breaking and entering a vehicle

• 7 counts of misdemeanor larceny

• 2 counts of possession of a firearm

• 1 count of carjacking

• 15 counts of conspiracy

In addition to the burglaries, the teenagers are accused of stealing two guns and an entire vehicle. Protective orders have been sent to Juvenile Justice for all three suspects.

“Our investigators are working closely with the surrounding agencies in the Triangle to prosecute those who committed these incidents,” Durham Police said in a statement.
