Wandering Pig Found Near Durham Elementary School Sparks Local Attention

Durham, NC – An unusual sight delighted locals on Wednesday when a pig was spotted near Mangum Elementary School in Durham County. Deputies from the Durham County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and found the curious creature squealing happily, making for a unique and lighthearted discovery.

The Sheriff’s Office shared the story on social media, quipping, “We are not sure if this little pig will sell, but he was found living upstairs near Mangum Elementary School in the Bahamas.” While the mention of “the Bahamas” seems to have been a humorous typo, the pig’s unexpected appearance has captured public interest.

The animal is now in the care of Durham County Animal Services, which is working to reunite the pig with its rightful owner. “We will take good care of him in the brick house until the owner comes,” said one of the employees at the shelter.

Deputies noted that if the pig’s owner is not found, the animal may eventually be sold. For now, the pig remains safe and well-cared for as efforts continue to locate its home.

This quirky event has brought smiles to the community, and residents are encouraged to contact Durham County Animal Services if they have any information about the pig’s owner.
