Durham is taking a major leap forward in expanding and modernizing recreational spaces with two transformative projects: a $43 million New Aquatic Center at Merrick-Moore Park and a $42 million revitalization of East End and Long Meadow Parks. These projects reflect Durham’s commitment to enhancing community spaces and uniting neighborhoods while honoring the City’s history and residents’ feedback.

Located next to the Wheels Roller Rink in Merrick-Moore Park, this project transforms a previously vacant lot and abandoned building into a state-of-the-art recreational hub, opening new possibilities for East Durham and beyond.
