DURHAM, NC – A simple $20 scratch-off ticket turned into a six-figure windfall for Durham resident Crystal Green, who recently won $100,000 in the North Carolina Lottery.
Green purchased a $2,000,000 Diamond Deluxe scratch-off ticket and hit big, becoming one of the game’s top prize winners.
Claiming Her Prize
On Monday, Green traveled to North Carolina Lottery headquarters in Raleigh to collect her winnings. After state and federal taxes, she took home $71,756.
“It still feels surreal,” Green said while receiving her check.
More Big Wins Still Available
The $2,000,000 Diamond Deluxe game, launched in December 2023, originally featured four grand prizes of $2 million and several $100,000 prizes. With Green’s win, lottery officials confirm that three $2 million prizes and three $100,000 prizes remain unclaimed.
