Bull City Citizen Business Report: Caesars Virginia Casino Resort to Open by Year-End

DANVILLE, VA — Just an hour’s drive from Durham, a highly anticipated addition to southern Virginia’s entertainment landscape is on the verge of completion. Officials have confirmed that the $750 million Caesars Virginia casino resort in Danville will open by the end of this year.

Located less than 80 miles from Raleigh and just 57 miles from Durham, Caesars Virginia promises to bring a world-class gaming and hospitality experience to the region. Construction began on the permanent resort following the success of a temporary facility that opened in mid-May 2023, operated in partnership with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

The full casino will feature an impressive array of gaming options, including 1,400 slot machines and over 80 live table games. Caesars is also preparing to launch a 320-room luxury hotel, with bookings now available for April. Rates start at $499 per night on weekdays and $699 on weekends, according to the Caesars website.

Adding to the resort’s allure, Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay will open Ramsay’s Kitchen inside Caesars Virginia by late 2024. Situated near the registration steps, the restaurant will boast a sleek, modern design, offering more than 250 seats, a private dining room, and an outdoor patio overlooking Danville’s historic Three Sisters smokestack.

The resort will also host a Caesars Sportsbook, a World Series of Poker Room, and a state-of-the-art entertainment and conference center, capable of accommodating up to 2,500 guests for concerts and events.

As the December opening approaches, the resort is in full hiring mode, with over 105 job listings available on the Caesars website. Stay tuned to Bull City Citizen for updates on the official opening date and more exciting developments from Caesars Virginia.
