Durham, NC—In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a vehicle reported stolen from an address near Hillsborough Road collided with a Durham Police Department patrol car before fleeing the scene. The suspect reversed the stolen vehicle into the police cruiser as officers approached, then drove away.
A pursuit ensued, involving the Durham Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP). The NCSHP ultimately apprehended the suspect and brought the vehicle to a stop. The driver was arrested, and charges are currently pending as the investigation continues.
