DURHAM, NC (WNCN) – A man was arrested Saturday after an incident Police say a woman’s “suspicious” body was found in a Durham backyard last week.
According to the Durham Police Department, Georgie Steele, 77, was found dead in a backyard in the 1000 block of Da Vinci Street on December 28th.
Police said Steele’s death was “suspicious” and an investigation was launched last week.
The cause of his death was not known as of Monday.
Two days after Steele was found dead, police said they charged Webster Steele, 58, of Durham with concealing the death. He is currently being held in the Durham County Jail.
Police have not said whether Georgie Steele and Webster Steele are related or live at the home.
The case is still under investigation and police said no further information could be released as of Monday.
