Shooting outside the Taco truck kills a man in Durham, police said

DURHAM, NC – A fatal shooting occurred Friday afternoon near the intersection of NC Highway 55 and Wynne Road, leaving one man dead and prompting a police investigation. The incident took place just before 1:30 p.m. outside a food truck in the area, Durham police confirmed.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene to find an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene. As of now, authorities have not publicly released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.

Officers cordoned off the crime scene outside a taco truck named Mexican JV American, which was parked near Tacos Ardiente restaurant. CBS 17 reporters on the scene observed multiple evidence markers on the ground, indicating where bullet casings had fallen. Additionally, a bullet hole was visible inside the food truck itself.

At this time, no suspect has been named, and Durham police have not disclosed details regarding a possible motive. A department spokesperson stated that investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and gathering witness statements in hopes of identifying the perpetrator.
