DURHAM, NC — The Durham Police Department has taken a 16-year-old boy into custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy earlier this week. The incident occurred Tuesday morning at an apartment complex on the 2500 block of Roxboro Street near Cornwallis Road.
Authorities responded to the scene around 11 a.m. Tuesday and discovered the 17-year-old victim, who has not been identified, deceased. Police announced Thursday afternoon that a 16-year-old suspect had been arrested in connection with the crime. Due to his age, his identity has not been disclosed.
The suspect faces charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder, though further details about the circumstances leading to the shooting have not been released. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
