DURHAM, NC (WNCN) — The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference is investigating an altercation after Howard University’s football game at North Carolina Central University Saturday night.
NC Central won the game 26-3 as J’Mari Taylor rushed for 206 yards and three touchdowns while Walker Harris threw for 321 yards and another score.
NC Central trailed for most of the first half before an 11-play, 71-yard drive ended with 23 seconds left when Chris Mosley caught a 12-yard touchdown. Then the Eagles (7-3, 3-1) scored 20 unanswered points in the second half.
The MEAC announced on Saturday morning that there would be a “full review of the post-match dispute.”
It’s unclear exactly what happened during the incident minutes after the game, but CBS 17 video from the stadium showed a group of both teams near the corner of the end zone.

Some people were on the field trying to separate the two groups, the video said.
The MEAC said it will review video footage of the incident and reports from game officials, neutral spectators, coaches, athletic personnel and the student-athletes involved.
“This was a very unfortunate incident, and we take it very seriously,” MEAC Commissioner Sonja Stills said in a news release. “The MEAC holds its student players, coaches and staff to the highest standards of sportsmanship and professionalism. We are committed to carefully reviewing this matter and will take appropriate disciplinary action based on our findings.”
The MEAC said it would issue an official statement once it had completed its review.
Friday’s game was the final home game of the season for NC Central, which is now scheduled to win one against Delaware State on Nov. 23.
