A devastating two-vehicle crash claimed the lives of a woman and a young child on Saturday night in Durham. According to the Durham Police Department, officers were called to the scene around 8:37 p.m. on Page Road near Holloman Road.
Authorities reported that a black 2015 Infiniti QX60, traveling northbound on Page Road, collided head-on with a blue 2008 Chevy Cobalt, driven by 35-year-old Sherri Walker, who was heading south. Walker was transported to a nearby hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Infiniti suffered only minor injuries.
Walker’s vehicle had four additional passengers, including three children under the age of five and one adult. One of the children later died from injuries sustained in the crash. The remaining passengers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
